Chanticleer will open the 87th season of the Brown County Civic Music Association on Friday, October 4, 2013 with a program titled She Said/He Said, a complex and emotionally charged dialogue between the sexes. Godliness bestowed upon women (by men) is extolled in works by Andrea Gabrieli and Eric Whitacre. The bawdiest of Renaissance Madrigals, standards by Cole Porter and Ravel’s dramatic Trois chansons will revisit this this age-old topic. She Said/He Said features the wide-ranging voices of Hildegard von Bingen, Stacy Garrop, Joni Mitchell and more. See the program and program notes for details.

Called “the world’s reigning male chorus” by The New Yorker magazine, and named “Ensemble of the Year,” by Musical America in 2008, the San Francisco-based, GRAMMY® award-winning ensemble Chanticleer embarks upon its 36th season in 2013-14, performing in 23 of the United States. Founded in 1978, the group is comprised of 12 singers hailing from across the country. Since Chanticleer began releasing recordings in 1981, the group has sold well over a million copies. See biography for more information.

This concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Ralph Holter Auditorium at Green Bay West High. Auditorium doors open at 7:00 p.m. All concerts are open seating. Tickets are available for this concert as well as for the five-concert season online, through the mail, or at the door. Tickets for the Chanticleer concert: $25 adults, $10 students through college. CHANTICLEER – AN ORCHESTRA OF VOICES

Called “the world’s reigning male chorus” by The New Yorker magazine, and named Ensemble of the Year by Musical America in 2008, the San Francisco-based, GRAMMY® award-winning ensemble Chanticleer embarks upon its 36th season in 2013-14, performing in 23 of the United States. A winter international tour of 9 European countries will see debuts in Dublin, Moscow, and St. Petersburg; and returns to Paris, Vienna, Budapest, Prague, Antwerp, Rotterdam, and Bruges.
